As with many of the primary service professions in World of Warcraft, enchanting is one of those money making and saving chances that can truly help you out in the long run if you have the time to devote. As a primary service profession, it counts towards your limit of two, but with the right class and race, it can be ideal for your game success.

Being a Primary Service Profession, Enchanting does count towards your limit of two Primary Professions. Enchanting gives you the ability to enchant weapons and armor allowing you to permanently enhance them. This does not involve the creation of new items. In order to make items that are enchanted you first require items that are not enchanted. It is also necessary to disenchant magical items so that you can acquire the reagents that are needed to enchant other items. Enchanting can also be used to create oils that can be applied to a weapon in order to fill it with temporary enhancements that can be combined along with permanent enchantments for a greater effect.

What enchanting does is allow you to enchant weapons and armor to enhance them for permanent gains. You do not create new items, but takes existing items and adds new properties to them. You can also take apart existing enchanted items to gain the reagents in them for crafting new enchanted items. Not only do you take things apart and create new ones, but you can create temporarily effective oils and enchantments for addition to a weapon during a battle. These temporary changes can be added to already enchanted weapons and armor for further effect as well.

Though you can create great new weapons with enchantment, disenchanting will actually destroy many more items than any other professions in the game. Many of the bi-products you receive from deconstructing items cannot be resold and are thus pure waste. You can sell them to other players or sell your services though, one of the prime ways of making gold through enchanting.

Because disenchanting requires the destruction of the original magical item, this makes Enchanting a greater consumer of resources than any of the other World of Warcraft Professions. This is especially so due to the fact that the bi-products such as shards, essences, and dust that you receive from the disenchanted items cannot be sold to vendors. You can, however, sell them to your fellow WoW players as well as offer them your services in exchange for payment.

At the beginning, building up your enchanting skill is best done through gray items and simple enchantments. Sell the items back to vendors for a small profit and build your skill level up. Once you’ve been enchanting for a while, start using instances and higher level arenas to farm reagents and items for disenchanting. You’ll build levels, gold, and items for enchantment in this manner.

A good way to keep stocked up on needed reagents is to farm instances. This will keep you supplied with items to disenchant giving you a steady supply of reagents.

Make sure that your client has the reagent needed for the requested enchantment. If they don’t have the required reagent but you happen to have it on hand yourself, then factor that into the overall price that you are charging for the enchantment. Another thing to keep in mind is that you don’t want to have an asking price that is so unreasonably high that it will scare the client off. Be reasonable with your rates.

It is a good idea to advertise your Enchanting services in your capital town.

A lot of hype is created around World of Warcraft Macros in today’s gaming society.
